Frequently asked questions

What church accounting services do you provide?
We specialize in church and nonprofit accounting, including bookkeeping cleanup, system setup, budgeting, ECFA preparation, internal controls, cash flow planning, donor reporting, and board-ready financial presentations.

We can also work with other Christian organizations whether non-profit or for-profit however we do ensure proper alignment with services and core values.

Do you only serve churches and ministries?
While Mission Forward Accounting mostly focuses on churches and Christian nonprofits, we will serve other Christian businesses. This ensures our services and values are aligned with yours.

Can you help us prepare for an audit or ECFA accreditation?
Absolutely. We assist with audit readiness, ECFA compliance, and internal control assessments so your ministry can meet accountability standards with confidence.

How do you price your services?
Our pricing is nonprofit-sensitive. We offer hourly, monthly, and project-based options, starting at $135/hour, with a cap tied to your organization’s unrestricted income. We also provide discounted or pro bono support for struggling ministries.

Do you work with small churches?
Yes. Many of our clients are small to mid-sized churches that can’t afford a full-time CFO or large firm. We provide scalable solutions that meet you where you are.

Do you offer fractional CFO or Controller services?
Yes. We serve as your outsourced financial leader, helping with forecasting, cash flow, board communication, and strategic planning—without the cost of a full-time hire.

How do you help churches improve donor trust?
We create board-ready financials and donor reports that connect numbers to ministry impact. This financial storytelling builds transparency and trust, which strengthens donor engagement.

Can you work with our existing staff or volunteers?
Yes. We often partner with existing bookkeepers, treasurers, or admin staff, providing oversight, guidance, and leadership while strengthening your team.

Do you work remotely or in person?
Both. We serve ministries nationwide virtually and are available in-person for churches in Tampa Bay, Wesley Chapel, and surrounding areas.

What accounting systems do you support?
We work with QuickBooks Online, church management systems, payroll platforms, and donor management software. We’ll help optimize your setup for efficiency and accuracy.

How quickly can you start?
We can usually begin with an initial consultation within one week. After onboarding, most churches see immediate clarity and cleanup progress within 30 days.

What’s the first step to working with you?
Schedule a no-pressure introductory call. We’ll learn about your ministry, discuss your financial needs, and outline a path forward that fits your budget and mission.
